MBM consists of practices that focus on the interaction between the brain, mind, body and behavior, with the purpose to use the mind to affect physical functioning and to promote health (NCCAM, 2011).
A short list of modalities under the umbrella of MBM includes meditation, focused attention, yoga, deep breathing exercises, guided imagery, hypnosis, progressive relaxation, qi gong, and tai chi.
MBM modalities are generally used to increase a state of calm and relaxation, improve psychological balance, to help cope with illness and chronic disease and enhance overall well-being.
Mind-Body Wellness coaching addresses stress and the ability to cope with the chronic stress in our lives. Simple, right? So why does one need a coach to help deal with stress? Because stress is one of the primary drivers behind all chronic disease in the US today. Evidence-based research shows that Mind-Body Medicine can improve conditions related to high blood pressure, diabetes, sexual dysfunction, IBS, and cancer among others.
Mind-Body Wellness Coaching is not a medical treatment. It teaches self-care, self-efficacy, and resilience. Working one-on-one with a coach to identify what stressors are interfering with your health and well-being gives you the skills you to begin addressing those areas of your life. By re-directing and re-programming mental scripts you can rid yourself of negative behaviors and create a dialogue for transformation.
I teach my clients the skills needed to uncover the wisdom of body, mind, and spirit. When the mind and body are unblocked, my clients begin to discover an inner calling that feels alive, powerful and authentic. This is the beginning of genuine transformation.
I engage with coaching clients from all over the world via telephone and HIPPA-compliant televideo services. Research has shown that this online, telephone format for coaching is just as effective as face-to-face coaching and, in some cases, coaching clients may feel more secure and confident working over the phone.
Sessions run between 1-1.5 hours on average at $105 per hour. Half-hour spot coaching is available for established clients. There is no one right and true way to find and connect with your BEST self. There is no one right and true way to coach. All sessions will be specifically tailored to your individual needs and concerns.
